Police responded to the accident on the Calgary Trail near 41 SW Avenue around 6:30 p.m. According to the Edmonton Police Department, a 2014 Land Rover was heading south when it lost control and hit a culvert in the central meridian. The rear passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was thrown from the vehicle before the Land Rover rolled “several times”, EPS added. His death was confirmed on the spot. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 19-year-old man was removed from the vehicle and transported by STARS to the hospital with serious injuries that threaten his life. He later died of his injuries at the hospital, police said.
