The San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of shootings near the Alice Chalmers playground on April 3, 2022. Google Maps Police responded to a report of gunshots at the Alice Chalmers playground on Brunswick Avenue shortly after 4:30 p.m. and found four adult men with gunshot wounds, the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. Rescue measures were taken immediately and the four people were taken to a local hospital, police said. Two of the men later died at the hospital. The other two victims have non-life-threatening injuries, the statement said San Francisco County Superintendent Ahsha Safai tweeted about the incident, writing “I am 100% committed to ensuring our community is safe. This is another act of unreasonable armed violence.” No arrests were made and the police department did not comment on what led to the shooting. SFPD Homicide Detail investigates the shooting.
