The Edmonton Fire Department (EFRS) said it had sent six crews to the scene after receiving a call that 26 people were stuck on a walk called Havoc.
EFRS spokesman Rowan Anderson said the call came at 3:32 p.m.
Anderson said the crews managed to get the route hydraulics working and the route went down safely at 3:58.
No injuries were reported.
The CBC contacted the West Edmonton Mall, but received no response.
The West Edmonton Mall website reports that Havoc travels up to 27 km / h and reaches heights of up to 45 feet. He describes the route as “the only rush you have never experienced before”.
