Owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam and any of the investigators the club has hired to investigate the allegations against their new star player were not present. The Haslams later joined a Zoom video conference while abroad. Watson’s signature divided the Browns fan base without a doubt. Many fans just left the franchise and found something else to do. Others have embraced the very talented player in the hope that his signing will bring another championship to Cleveland. While others have considered a “wait and see” attitude since Watson has never been blamed for anything. #Browns attention to all Deshaun Watson haters, is the Cleveland Browns general whether you like it or not, billionaires and millionaires still run the NFL if you do not like leave or at least find a different NFL team to follow the license only the true Browns fans – J Dog (@ 67vett327) March 25, 2022 The press conference came after two grand jury hearings, in which no Texas court asked for charges against him in connection with complaints and grievances from 22 different women, most of them massage therapists. Watson is still facing another criminal charge, which will soon be presented to another large jury in Texas. The 22 women’s lawyer then said that their civil lawsuits would continue and that everyone felt that their claims would lead to victory. Here at DBN, we have five performances of Watson for the first time in front of the Cleveland media.
1. Watson not only stated that he was innocent of all the allegations, but repeated it several times
Watson immediately came out and stated that he did not commit or did not commit any of the acts or sexual assaults that any of these women have depicted. Then he said it again. And later, again.
“I have never attacked a woman,” Watson said. “I have never disrespected any woman.”
Not only did he repeatedly state that he was innocent, but his body language and tone were quite dynamic in his delivery.
“The things that are off the field now that have come up surprised me because I did not do anything that these people claim,” Watson said. “… I never attacked, I never respected and I never harassed any woman in my life.”
Many statements and questions were made, and then Watson returned with this:
“I understand that the situation is very difficult, especially the female side of the fans of this community. I’m not naive about that. These allegations are very, very serious. But as I said before, I never attacked any woman, I did not respect any woman. I grew up with a single parent who has two aunts as her sisters. I grew up to be genuine. I have always defended it and I will always be in it. “I just have the opportunity to show who I really am in the community.”
If you could find anything from Watson’s first press, it was that the player stood firm and clear in his claim of innocence.
Berry reiterated Watson’s assessment:
“We are very confident about Deshaun. We have great faith in him and we feel that as he enters the community he will have a positive impact. We believe that he is one of the best players in the position of the sport. It is at its peak and we believe it is the most important position. We believe that this is a decision that when evaluated in the long run will be positive for our body “.
Watson repeatedly clarified that he had done nothing wrong.
2. Everyone realizes that sensitivity is the job 1
The Haslams were very focused on being sensitive to the fact that every part of it is sensitive in nature.
This was also expressed by Stefanski and Berry.
One thing that caused a great deal of concern after the announcement that Watson would be coming to Cleveland was the fact that there could be a huge outflow on season ticket renewals. Haslam actually explained the opposite.
The entire Browns organization seems to be on the alert for anyone in the community who may be bothered by a potential woman who has adopted the franchise. This has been addressed more than once.
Haslam made it very clear that they supported the idea of completing the trade for Watson despite the legal consequences that are still ongoing. They said they trusted the legal system and fully supported Watson’s legal team and the direction it is currently taking on the 22 pending civil lawsuits.
“We put more time, more effort, more research into this decision than any other decision we made with the Cleveland Browns,” said Jimmy Haslam. “It’s something we took very seriously and we feel comfortable with the process.”
Dee Haslam then shared her thoughts:
“It was a difficult journey for us and our family. We have spent a lot of time with our daughters and we work as a family. We had to work very hard to be comfortable with the decision. We knew it would be very difficult for people who could evoke feelings caused by sexual abuse. “Our compassion for these people is really deep.”
3. The whole press conference was reminiscent of a funeral
The Browns had a brand new game that replaced the brand new old game. However, the atmosphere was serene amid huge national and local network coverage.
Keep in mind that Watson has not been in front of a camera bar for almost two years. Maybe he was rusty or maybe he was so serious when they approached him en masse. Anyway, the whole atmosphere was depressing.
It appeared that many of his lawyer’s questions had instructed him not to say anything reprehensible about his upcoming cases. The happiness for the presentation of the highest paid player in the league did not come from anyone.

4. The situation with Watson, regardless of the outcome, is likely to continue
Once the Browns go out on the field and the real games are won and lost, every week the media will talk about Deshaun Watson and whatever claim he has to face in the coming months. These claims may not weaken, but they certainly will. And the Browns certainly hope that this time, they will have the right guy to take them deep into the after-season. And for $ 230 million, better to be. Watson is a great athlete, but as long as cases are open and pending, this will be the news that will surround the Browns throughout the season. But after the press, it is doubtful that what has been said is going to change any follower of their position on this issue at the moment. There were times when they suddenly made someone more comfortable with Watson being the new franchise leader. Many questions were skipped too well and did not represent exactly what needed to be said or revealed. Jeff Lange / NETWORK USA TODAY
5. The only question that finally had to be asked was, “Why so many massage therapists?”
Almost four minutes later, Watson was finally asked what many people are wondering anyway. Most athletes prefer to have only a few people touch their body whether it is medical or for muscle toning and the like. Athletes massage all the time. And like a good car mechanic, when you find a good one, you stay in that source. But Watson apparently used 40. And 22 of that number have filed sexual charges against him. Why so much? “I’ve been to Houston for five years and 40 is over time. It is not in a period of time. You go to different people. “I can not go into too much detail, but people have different plans and I meet different people over time.” Did he answer that? Not in the least. It does not make sense in reality. Can not imagine a place that wants professional athletes, who pay well and pay on time and can not move to other customers for a player like the franchise general of the local NFL team? It just did not seem to be a simple answer. And it’s not that Watson didn’t have time to think about what to say once he was asked. And then, was that all he could find? Maybe he wants to make it seem that there is no good answer to the question.
