A man has been charged after an altercation with police at Churchill Plaza late Tuesday morning. “Officers attended to the Churchill Plaza area for an unwanted person,” said Sault Ste. Marie Police Department spokesman Lincoln Louttit. “Upon arrival, the individual who is not wanted in the area resisted police and an altercation ensued. Officers were able to gain control of this individual and have been charged accordingly,” Ludit said. “No injuries to officers and no significant injuries to the defendants that I know of,” he added. Shortly after noon, the police had left the scene. No details are available on the specific charges. “We don’t have details yet, but probably in the morning that information will be released,” Louttit said.
