The attack took place between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. within the 32900 Block of South Fraser Way, as the female victim was passing through a business park, according to an APD press release. She was approached by an unknown man, described as South Asain, in his 30s, with short brown hair and a beard, driving a gray or silver van. Then this man sexually assaulted her. The Abbotsford Major Crime Police Unit is investigating and is in the preliminary stages of the case. “Initial investigation shows that this is an accident. “No suspects have been identified or arrested at this time,” the statement said. The victim was hospitalized, he feels injured, but did not suffer serious bodily injuries, Const. Paul Walker, head of media at APD, said in an email. He added that investigators are in the process of searching for video, in order to identify the vehicle or the suspect. Abbotsford police are urging anyone in the South Fraser Way and Bourquin Crescent West area around the time of the attack, who may have been a witness or have video footage, to contact the Major Crime Unit: 604-859 -5225. They warn the public to exercise awareness when walking alone, to avoid using your phone, to have headphones and to report suspicious people or activities.
