Afghan interpreter Jamil Hassan appeared on “Sunday Night in America” to discuss the situation in his home country after he was forced to flee last year. August marks one year since President Biden’s decision to withdraw all US troops from Afghanistan, leading to the fall of the country from Taliban forces. Although Biden had previously insisted that the US military would remain in the country until all US and Afghan allies were evacuated, hundreds of Americans and thousands of Afghan allies were left stranded after the troops withdrew. Hassan, who was one of several Afghan allies evacuated through Kabul airport, lamented to host Trey Gowdy that he felt betrayed by Biden and his decision to leave the country. I didn’t think I was here, being interviewed on Fox News, I was optimistic about my future in my country, serving my people. But unfortunately, because of President Biden’s decision, here I am with hundreds of thousands of my fellow citizens fleeing their country, starting over here and around the world. And tens of thousands of them are still in refugee camps in Pakistan. and in the United Arab Emirates And Qatar and even Ukraine. Their lives have been destroyed. Their hopes have been destroyed. Our country has been destroyed. Everything we have achieved in the last 20 years, because of the presence of the international community, is gone Hassan said. TOM COTTON: BIDEN’S AFGHANISTAN ‘FIACOCA’ IS LEADING CHAOS THROUGHOUT IMPLEMENTATION “There is no explanation for this. This is just a crystal error. This decision should not have been made in the first place,” he added. During the evacuation at Kabul airport, suicide bombers killed 183 people, including 13 US servicemen. In retaliation, the US launched two drone strikes against suspected ISIS-K terrorists, killing 10 Afghan civilians, including seven children. Hassan recounted his own experiences fleeing his country, assuming many had felt the same. Everyone was sleeping and started to sleep, but I couldn’t sleep because I thought I was missing something big, something And still, I think that either the last 20 years of life that I spent in democracy, happiness and peace, was a dream or is this a dream , and I will wake up one day and things will be normal like they were last year and the last 20 years. This is the feeling I can express,” Hassan said. A YEAR AGO, BIDEN PROMISED TO “STAY” IN AFGHANISTAN UNTIL “ALL” AMERICANS WERE OUT. HE DIDN’T KEEP HIS WORD In relation to Afghanistan now, Hassan argued that the country had “regressed a hundred years” and continues to be ignored by the US “It’s not even Afghanistan before 9/11. It’s worse than that, because despite knowing the reality of the facts about Afghanistan, what people are achieving, they turn a blind eye to everyone. The worst thing is that the whole world has forget about Afghanistan. Not just because of the war in Ukraine, but because they don’t want to hear about it. For example, President Biden has made it clear many times that he doesn’t want to hear anything about Afghanistan. And we need to hear that,” he said. Hassan also warned that this could have further worsening effects worldwide, especially in Ukraine and Taiwan. Immediately after the withdrawal of America and its allies from Afghanistan, this gave Russia an incentive to attack Ukraine. And God knows what will come next. we watch the news about Taiwan, China threatening the security of Taiwan. And the result of this chaotic withdrawal for the Americans and for America is that the world no longer trusts America as an ally. Look at Japan, South Korea, countries in the Middle East, do they think the United States is going to stick with them, stand by them? I’m sure they don’t. They’re looking for other allies,” Hassan concluded. Lindsay Kornick is an associate editor for Fox News Digital. Story tips can be sent to [email protected] and on Twitter: @lmkornick.
