Apple has announced that it is bringing the new Apple Maps experience with detailed 3D buildings and improved navigation to Canada. Starting in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, the app now supports more accurate 3D building rendering and navigation. “We’re excited that Apple Maps users are exploring the beauty and culture of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in an incredibly detailed new way,” said Apple CEO Eddie Cue, according to MacRumors. “Built with confidentiality at its core, this update is a continuation of our commitment to creating the best, most accurate map of the world, with a beautifully designed experience and attention to detail that only Apple can offer.” This new Apple Maps experience was already available in some US cities, including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as London. The 3D function is accessed by pressing 3D on the side menu bar on an iPhone. Maps now have improved road details to help drivers navigate cities more easily. Turning lanes, intermediate lanes, bus and taxi lanes and pedestrian crossings are clearly displayed for navigating busy intersections. In addition, young pedestrians can now benefit from riveting hiking instructions and more powerful transport maps.
