apple Apple has just announced that the 2022 World Developer Conference will take place in June and, as in the last two years, will be in electronic form. Here’s what we know. When does it happen? Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10, 2022. On Monday there will be, as usual, a keynote address for the start of work and a State of the Union event for developers. Although the timings have not been announced yet, it will undoubtedly be the keynote address at 10 a.m. Pacific on June 6. MORE THAN FORBESApple Reveals pioneering iPhone upgrade to new David Phelan patent Tipster Jon Prosser had claimed that this year’s WWDC would be a personal event. I found this claim very unlikely. After all, it’s not the same as the company’s product unveiling, with 1,000 presses crammed into the Steve Jobs Theater. No, WWDC is where 6,000 or more developers are in close contact with Apple software engineers. Covid is not so far behind our rear-view mirrors that Apple risks such a thing. And, anyway, we know that Covid is unpredictable. Of all the Apple stages, this seemed the least likely to happen in person. But Prosser has proven to be right, even if the number of developers will be much smaller than a normal year. How many people will be there in person? This has not been revealed. Apple just said: “In addition to the online conference, Apple will be hosting a special day for developers and students at Apple Park on June 6 to watch videos of the Union’s speech and status, along with the online community. “Space will be limited and details on how to apply will soon be available on the Apple Developer website and app.” Here is an indication. It’s in Apple Park. I do not think this means in the huge circular building which is the main building, but more likely in the Steve Jobs Theater which, as mentioned above, accommodates 1,000 people. So, definitely the number will be less than 1,000. Stay tuned. How much? This is a definite advantage. Joining the WWDC is not free and includes travel, hotels and the Dub-Dub ticket itself. But when it’s online, Apple does it for free, so developers who want to come can do it online at no cost. With more than 30 million developers for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV, Apple says, it means everyone can attend without having to book a flight anywhere. Swift Challenge For the third year, Apple “will support students who love to code with the Swift Student Challenge. Swift Playgrounds is a revolutionary application for iPad and Mac that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun. For this year’s challenge, students from around the world are invited to create a Swift Playgrounds application project on a theme of their choice and can submit their work by April 25th. For more information, visit the Swift Student Challenge website. “ More as we have them. MORE THAN FORBESApple Reveals Jaw Upgrade For AirPods Pro 2 By David Phelan
