Apple Maps has launched new, detailed 3D city maps with the release of iOS 15, and now Canada’s largest cities have been added. Apple device users can see Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in more detail than ever before using Apple Maps, according to an Apple announcement. The update provides much more accurate environmental information, as the app displays individual buildings and landmarks, enabling users to truly understand their environment. When the feature debuted in a handful of American and English cities, users were impressed with the level of detail on each map. But the number of cities available was a bit disappointing for anyone outside of the US and London, so moving detailed 3D maps to another country is an exciting development for technology. The full list of cities included in the iOS 15 version of Apple Maps is London, Los Angeles, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and Washington. DC In addition to providing useful, highly reliable maps, the app also offers up-to-date navigation information, as well as improvements to public transit updates. With an update as big as the addition of three new big cities, owners of Apple devices living outside the list of selected cities are hoping for more maps. When it first debuted in September 2021, Apple made clear its plans to expand the scope of the application to three Canadian cities, however, there has been no word on which parts, if any, will follow. With six months to go between the introduction of new fully-conscious cities on Apple Maps and the release of the feature, optimistic Apple device owners will likely have to wait a while before new cities are added.
