PRESS RELEASE Apple’s World Congress of Developers is back in electronic form Apple will host the Swift Student Challenge again Cupertino, California Apple announced today that it will host the annual World Developer Conference (WWDC) in electronic form from June 6 to 10, free of charge for all developers. Based on the success of the last two years of virtual events, WWDC22 will showcase the latest innovations in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, while giving developers access to Apple engineers and technologies to learn how to build innovative applications and interactive experiences. “At its heart, WWDC has always been a forum for networking and community building,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Global Developer Relationships and Corporate and Educational Marketing. “In this spirit, WWDC22 invites developers from around the world to come together to explore how to bring their best ideas to life and to promote what they can. We like to connect with our developers and we hope that all our participants will leave feeling energized by their experience. ” Now more than ever, Apple products are part of users’ daily lives, helping them learn, create and connect. At WWDC22, Apple’s growing global community of more than 30 million developers will gain knowledge and access to the technologies and tools to make their visions a reality. In addition to the keynote addresses and presentations on the state of the Union, this year’s program will also include more information sessions, more cutting-edge workshops, more digital lounges to interact with participants and more local content to become the WWDC22 truly global event. In addition to the online conference, Apple will host a special day for developers and students at Apple Park on June 6 to watch videos of the main event and the state of the Union, along with the online community. Space will be limited and details on how to apply will soon be available on the Apple Developer website and app. For the third year, Apple will also support students who love to code with the Swift Student Challenge. Swift Playgrounds is a revolutionary application for iPad and Mac that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun. For this year’s challenge, students from around the world are invited to create a Swift Playgrounds application project on a theme of their choice and can submit their work by April 25th.
