Brooks Kraft / Apple Inc / Handout via Reuters Apple said Tuesday that its annual WWDC developer conference will begin on June 6. Apple will hold a launch event on the first day of the conference. Apple usually unveils new iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac software in a presentation with Apple CEO Tim Cook on the first day of WWDC. WWDC 2022 will be virtual and will be broadcast on Apple’s website. The event lasts until June 10. Apple has been hosting virtual events since 2020. The software, which was unveiled at WWDC, was released in beta in the summer before being widely released alongside new iPhone models in the fall. This year, Apple’s iPhone software will probably be called iOS 16. WWDC focuses on Apple software developers who build applications for Apple platforms. Much of the conference, after the presentation of the first day, is dedicated to sessions where developers receive guidance and advice from Apple employees on how to make better applications and use Apple software. But it is also the first time the public has taken a look at the major new software features that Apple plans to release later this year. Some developers and students will be able to apply to watch the presentation from Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California. Apple could also announce a high-tech Mac Pro desktop computer. Officials suggested at the company’s latest presentation event in March that it would be announced in the future.
