The video, which was posted on social media, shows officers restraining a person against a curb, appearing to punch the person in the face and kneeing the person in the side and back. A woman not seen in the video can be heard saying: “Don’t hit him! He needs his medicine!” An officer replies, “Back the f**k off!” while another orders her into her car. The person who posted the video online said her sister witnessed the fight outside Kountry Xpress on Mulberry. Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante told CNN affiliate KHBS that the suspect is wanted for allegedly threatening a gas station attendant in a neighboring town. When located on Mulberry, Damante said the man was initially cooperative, but then tried to attack officers, leading to the confrontation seen in the video. The sheriff told KHBS that the suspect was treated at a hospital and booked into jail, while a deputy suffered a minor head injury during the fight. Arkansas State Police identified the suspect as Randall Worcester, 27, of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Worcester is charged with second-degree battery, resisting arrest, possession of a criminal instrument, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, terroristic threatening as well as first- and second-degree assault charges, according to state police and jail records. Crawford County Jail records show Worcester is being held on $15,000 bond. It was unclear Sunday night if Worcester had an attorney. “In connection with the video circulating on social media of two Crawford County deputies, we have asked the Arkansas State Police to investigate and the deputies have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation,” the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday in a statement posted. on Facebook. The Mulberry police officer is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, the Mulberry Police Department said in a statement to CNN. “The City of Mulberry and the Mulberry Police Department take these investigations very seriously and hold all of their officers accountable for their actions,” Mulberry Police said. CNN is not aware of any other footage of the incident at this time. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson confirmed that state police will investigate. “I have spoken with Colonel Bill Bryant of the Arkansas State Police and the Crawford County arrest incident will be investigated based on the video evidence and the DA’s request,” Hutchinson said in a tweet.
