Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante said two county deputies and a Mulberry officer have been suspended. In the video, which is too painful to watch, the three officers can be seen pinning Randall Worcester, 27, to the ground and hitting him repeatedly, sometimes with clenched fists. Officers alleged that when they confronted Worcester, he pushed a deputy to the ground and punched him in the back of the head, leading to his arrest. Worcester was hospitalized but later released. He has now been charged with multiple offences, including assault and resisting arrest. An investigation is underway into the incident. A statement from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said: “In reference to the video circulating on social media of two Crawford County deputies, we have asked the Arkansas State Police to investigate and the deputies have been suspended pending result of the investigation. “I hold all my employees responsible for their actions and will take appropriate action in this matter.” Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson tweeted: “I spoke with Colonel Bill Bryant of the Arkansas State Police and the Crawford County arrest incident will be investigated based on video evidence and the DA’s request.”
