Barcelona president Joan Laporta has appeared in all but one confirmation of the acquisition of Chelsea center-back Andreas Christensen and AC Milan midfielder Frank Casey. Both players expire at the end of the season and are free to start talks with foreign clubs from January. Christensen has been strongly linked with a move to the Nou Camp as he prepares to end his 10-year stint at Chelsea. Laporta has now revealed that the Catalan giants have already made two signatures ahead of the summer transfer window – although he declined to name them. “We have completed two signings for next season,” the Nou Camp boss told RAC1. “One is a midfielder and the other a center back. “But I am not allowed to mention their names.” Barcelona president Joan Laporta (above) has confirmed that they have already made two signatures Speaking on social media to comment on Laporta’s statements, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Of course, the agreements between Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen are both fully agreed.” Christensen joined Chelsea from Brondby at the age of 15 in 2012 and has made more than 150 appearances for the Blues, helping the West London side win many trophies, including last season’s Champions League. The center-back has only played once in the Premier League since the end of December, however, having recently been sidelined due to injury and Covid, and as a result of the inactivity of his contract. Christensen helped Chelsea win many trophies, including the Champions League Kessie has impressed as a strong and flexible midfielder since moving from Atalanta to San Siro in 2019. He has made more than 200 appearances for the club, during which he has scored 35 goals and provided 16 assists. Barça see Casey as the long-term solution for the elderly Sergio Busquets, who turns 34 in July.
