Photo: Castanet Staff A body was found Tuesday in the North Thompson River in Westsyde, police said. Mountis said they were called to a section of the river near the 4300-square-foot Westsyde Street for a report of a body floating in the water. “An officer from the RCMP diving team has been deployed to assist in the recovery of the deceased,” RCMP Staff Sgt. said Janelle Shoihet in a press release. “Right now, it is too early to determine the nature of the incident or whether there is a suspicion of crime for the individual’s death.” Schiechett said that the BC Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an investigation in parallel with the police investigation.
