Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope – the daughter of the Lord of Bridgerton and Lady Featherington – has said what to expect from the second season of the Netflix drama. The star spoke to Digital Spy and other media about the inevitability of her own love story and sex scenes, given the nature of the novels. When asked what it would mean for Penelope to take advantage of these stories, she admitted that she has mixed feelings. “I mean, it’s exciting and scary,” Coughlan said. Netflix “I think because when I signed up for this show, because it’s based on books, I knew her love story was coming at some point, but I felt like a moment in the very distant future. And I already know her love is Colin Bridgerton.” Coughlan remembered when she and co-star Luke Thompson, who plays Colin, “joked” about it before, but it got scary as time went on. “Luke and I joked about it all the time, and then it gradually gets less funny and more intimidating as time goes on. I already know things are going to happen. So I’m like, no, we’re fine. We’re fine. It ‘s intense.” Asked which scene from the book she would like to play on the TV show, Coughlan said: “Well, there’s one of the racist scenes that sounds weird, but there ‘s a scene in the carriage. “We say, but I think it will be such a good scene in the show.
