Have you seen this search and rescue truck? Lake Williams police are asking the public to watch the truck following a burglary at the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue facility on Lake Williams on Sunday morning. Police are seeking the help of the public to find an emergency vehicle stolen from the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue Room on Lake Williams. Cpl. Shane Nicoll of Williams Lake RCMP Detachment said the search and rescue truck — a bright red 2020 Dodge Ram 5500 — represents a significant investment in community safety. “We ask everyone to look out for the Search and Rescue truck and, if they see it, to report it immediately to the police,” Nicole said in a statement. In a video posted on Facebook, Rick White, head of the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue Service, said the CCSAR room on Lake Williams was burglarized at around 1am on Sunday. A window broke and the truck was occupied. “If you see it somewhere, call the RCMP immediately. This is very worrying. Cariboo people rely on this truck to save people from car accidents. “We need it back,” White said. CCSAR posted on social media that the truck has a square box of aluminum and decals of search and rescue and is fully equipped for rescue and search and rescue operations on the highway. The BC license plate reads RH7960. “This vehicle, and the equipment inside it, is used by our professional volunteers to help those in need. “It allows us to get people out of life-threatening and life-threatening situations and into the care of BC Emergency Health Services,” CCSAR said in the post. “This vehicle saves lives.” Police said if anyone saw the vehicle, they should not approach it, but should call 911, Crime Stoppers or the Williams Lake RCMP squad to report their whereabouts.
