A Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) official has been arrested after police said they shot another man inside a station early Saturday morning in the south side of town. Chicago police said a verbal altercation between the employee and the 53-year-old man led to the shooting at the CTA 95th Street Red Line stop at around 1:55 a.m., FOX32 Chicago reported. 2 teenagers from Chicago ARE FACING CATEGORIES THAT TRIED TO STOLE THE 60-YEAR-OLD PHONE During the fight, the man started going down the stairs and was followed by the officer, who pulled out a gun and shot three times, according to police. The shooting occurred at around 1:55 a.m. Saturday at the CTA’s 95th Street Red Line stop, Chicago police said. (Google Earth) The video of the quarrel between the two men shows the customer shouting at the employee before pushing him to the ground, WBBM-TV reported, which received the video. The clerk claimed to have intervened when the man started harassing other customers at the station. The victim was rushed to Chicago University Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the lower abdomen, back and left leg, the station said. The employee was taken into custody. CLICK HERE TO RECEIVE THE FOX NEWS APPLICATION The CTA confirmed in a statement to local news agencies that the man who fired the gun was a CTA employee who worked as a customer assistant. “Based on our investigation, we can also confirm that this employee violated several CTA workforce rules, including one that explicitly prohibits the possession of a firearm,” the statement said. “The CTA is seeking the dismissal of this official.”
