Smith took to the stage to slap Rock, who was presenting an award at the film awards ceremony, after the comedian made a joke about his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. On Friday (April 1), five days after the incident, Smith decided to leave the Academy following reports that he would face disciplinary action. His decision stripped him of his membership in the Oscars. While Rock himself said he was “still working on what happened,” Tony’s brother – who is also a comedian – hit the star of King Richard during a comedy set aired over the weekend. In a video clip received by The Shade Room, Tony – who is one of Rock’s six brothers – said he did not want to open his show in the face of controversy. He went on, however, saying: “Will you hit my brother, because your brother winked at you?” Tony opened the show by saying, “If you’re going to get on this stage, this is not **’s Mother’s Oscars. “And if you walk your a ** up here, you are not a candidate for s *** but for these mother hands. Oh, we’ll run the rest of the time. “Every time you see me do a show, shut up!” During a recent Twitter question and answer, Tony was asked if he had accepted Smith’s apology from his brother, to which he replied: “No.” Responding to a fan who asked, “Who do you think beats Will or Jada’s friend the hardest?” Tony said, “Mom Rock.” Asked how his brother was after the fight, Tony replied: “Still rich”. Steve Coogan is the latest celebrity to take part in the controversy on stage, accusing Smith of “disgusting arrogance”.
