Laura Neelan will meet an emotional end on Coronation Street, confirmed the actress Kel Allen, who has already shot her last scenes for the show. The character surprised viewers on Friday (March 25) when he got the rap for the murder of Rick (Greg Wood), in an attempt to protect his daughter Kelly (Millie Gibson) from the truth. After her private investigator failed to find evidence of Rick’s disappearance, Gary Windass (Mikey North) confirmed to Laura that he had killed Rick and covered up the crime. Laura’s reaction to the news was shocking, but she finally realized that she was only acting in self-defense. “Rick was a bad person and he knows this more than anyone else,” Kel told Metro.co.uk. “She never agreed with the way of life she lived. “It simply came to our notice then. He did not want that. “Now she has the opportunity to leave a legacy to her daughter and know that she is with a man who is more dignified than her father was.” As a result, Laura made a huge sacrifice, handing herself over to the police, claiming that she killed Rick – making it so that Kelly could continue to live with Gary, who is now officially off the hook. Laura, however, will have to work very hard to get the police to believe that she killed Rick, since Gary is their main suspect. “At the forefront of her mind is her confession and making sure Kelly is safe, so she’s determined to do it right,” the soap star admits. “He’s got all the information he needs from Gary about the murder so he can repeat it and make them believe he did it. Laura accepts responsibility for Rick’s death (Image: ITV) “He even knows where the body is buried and how he died. It’s harder than she thought, because the police are sure she’s lying, as she had her eye on Gary for quite some time and just needed the proof, but here is this woman who knows all the details and wants to get it rap. ‘ Time, however, is running out for Laura, who is incurable, and Kel told us that she has already filmed her last scenes for ITV soap, confirming that her character will eventually die. “My God, it’s moving,” he said. “I get emotional and I start to fill up just thinking about it. “When I was asked to come back for this last story, I could not believe it, it was very good to deny it. As an actor, sticking your teeth in something so heartbreaking, dramatic and even humorous is incredible. “Three years have passed in a row and people were desperate for the truth to come out, but I do not think they were waiting for this reversal. “Because of this upheaval, the death scenes when they come are even more emotionally charged.” Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV.
