Crews Respond To Serious Fire In Downtown St. John S

Photos Rolanda Ryan One person was taken to hospital and many more were evacuated due to the “serious” fire in downtown St. John’s. The crews first arrived at the spot on Coronation Street shortly after 11pm last night. According to Squadron Leader Gerry O’Neil with the St. Louis Regional Fire Department. John’s, one house was damaged by the flames while two others were damaged by smoke. He said one person was taken to hospital, although the extent of the injuries is unknown. According to O’Neil, 5 to 6 people were displaced by the fire. The causes of the fire are being investigated.
