In a memo to council, Deputy General Manager of Public Works Quentin Levesque says a customer died in an incident at the Trail Road dump on Saturday. “The Department of Public Works sends its condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the customer who was fatally injured in the incident,” Levesque said. “The Department also provided support to landfill staff on site at the time.” No other details were released by the city. Ottawa paramedics tell CTV News Ottawa one person was taken to hospital Saturday after an incident at the dump on Trail Road. The person died from his injuries at the hospital. The Trail Road Landfill opened in 1980. Residents and businesses can dispose of waste at the Trail Road Landfill.
