Dancing on Ice announced the winners of the 2022 series. Dancer Regan Gascoigne and his professional skating partner Karina Manta won this year’s show after competing in the final with Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole’s professional partner Vanessa Bauer and Pussycat Wolls Dolls singer Kimber the professional partner Mark Hanretty. Reagan burst into tears as the result was named, as the series’ finalists rushed to the stage to congratulate him and Karina. Matt Frost / ITVShutterstock While judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean scored the first two routines of the night, these scores were for advisory purposes only and the spectators decided for themselves who won. After a break from the airwaves last week, the skating competition returned for its 14th series final tonight (March 27), featuring Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. It also marked a return for Holly after she tested positive for COVID-19 hours before the semifinals two weekends ago, leaving Philip to present herself. This content is imported from Twitter. Each couple skated twice – a routine specially choreographed for them by Torvill and Dean, followed by their favorite dance from the series. Then the audience vote froze and Kimberly and Mark were eliminated, finishing in third place. “Thank you very much, it was such a beautiful experience and I am so grateful to everyone for what they have done for us,” Kimberly said. The last two couples then completed a long tradition in Dancing on Ice – skating their performances in Torvill and Dean’s iconic “Boléro” routine that won gold medals at the 1984 Winter Olympics. Kimberly and Mark have also pre-recorded their release and Holly has confirmed that it will air on This Morning on Monday (March 28th). Speaking to Digital Spy and others, Brendan said: “I think the fact that we have a dance background has only improved things on the ice. “The things we were able to do because of our background and the fact that we pushed each other because we are all on this boat were really very special. “I liked the push, I liked the challenge and I liked to create new things that I probably would not have done if it were not there. People will always complain. This is the nature of people as we exist today.” Kimberly added: “We will never change their minds.” Dancing on Ice airs on ITV and will return in 2023.
