David Phelan The latest iPad Pro, the fifth generation model, was released this month. But there was no iPad Pro this spring, unlike last year or last year. This does not mean that the next iPad Pro is late: Apple rarely replaces Pro models unless at least 15 months have passed. Last year’s update was the exception. ΠΕΡΙΣΣΟΤΕΡΑ ΑΠΟ FORBESApple Watch Series 8: Powerful, but There’s a Catch, Insider Claims By David Phelan And there’s another reason why I was sure an iPad Pro would not debut at Peek Performance: there’s no way Apple could have upgraded the brand new Air with a more powerful Pro. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, says that the next flagship iPad will be released later this year. Some of the reviews of the iPad Air, including mine, referred to the fact that the new iPad Air, with an M1 processor that was similar, though not identical, to that of the much more expensive iPad Pro, made the 11-inch iPad Pro seems less appetizing. Sure, there are advantages when you go Pro, but perhaps the latest update has made the gap between Air and Pro less. So, according to Gurman, the next iPad Pro is going to put clear blue water between it and the new Air. This will be due in part to the replacement of the already extremely fast M1 processor with the next generation counterpart, called the M2. This chip is likely to have similarities to the M1, but significant speed and performance upgrades. That alone will be enough to set the Pro apart from the Air. But there is another expected update that Gurman has mentioned in the past and is repeating now. This is the inclusion of MagSafe wireless charging on the iPad Pro. I’m waiting to be convinced of that. I’m just not sure if the tablet needs wireless charging, but I’ll admit that there are a lot of my colleagues who are looking forward to it. Gurman says the new iPad Pro will be released in the fall, sometime between September and November. My money would be in October, after the release of the iPhone 14 series in September. But it is also likely to appear in September. Either way, there is enough time for more rumors to leak. MORE THAN FORBESApple Reveals Jaw Upgrade For AirPods Pro 2 By David Phelan
