Comment A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 5/10: At least we squeezed in a sunny summer Saturday before today’s cloud and scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Today: Mostly cloudy, isolated showers and thunderstorms. Highs: Low to mid 80s. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, possible rain and thunderstorms. Lows: Near 70 to low 70s. Tomorrow: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs: Low to mid 80s.

After a warm and sunny start to the weekend, today’s cloud cover and slightly cooler temperatures signal a brief change in the weather pattern. With a frontal boundary nearby, unsettled conditions today and tomorrow include the chance of heavier showers and thunderstorms tonight, some of which could threaten flooding. Brighter skies and lower rain chances return by midweek. Today (Sunday): Maybe a few glimpses of sun early in the day, but otherwise mostly cloudy. A chance of scattered showers arrives late in the morning with a period of heavier showers and thunderstorms possible in the evening. Clouds and showers keep temperatures in check with highs in the low to mid 80s and moderate to high humidity. Winds are out of the southeast around 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High Tonight: Heavier rains and storms are possible in the afternoon hours. Some slow-moving storms could drop about an inch of rain in a short period of time, so we’ll be watching the flood threat. Both overnight lows and dew points are in the near 70s with lows in the low 70s, so be prepared for a sweltering night ahead. Confidence: Average Follow us on Facebook, Twitterand Instagram for the latest weather updates. Read on for the forecast through midweek… Tomorrow (Monday): Lingering early morning showers should give way to a break in the rain by midday, and perhaps some bright skies despite the high clouds. Highs for the day should again reach the low to mid 80s. Another round of isolated showers and thunderstorms is possible in the afternoon (mainly after 2pm) to early afternoon. Confidence: Average Tomorrow night: Rain chances decrease after possible localized showers and thunderstorms in the early afternoon. It’s another cloudy and humid night. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is still possible overnight with lows in the 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Low-Medium A stationary frontal boundary should be far enough to our southeast to leave us mostly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday with daytime highs in the mid-80s and just a chance for a pop-up afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Anything that pops up should be less prevalent compared to today and tomorrow, so keep the midweek pool plans (we’ve got to get involved the rest of the summer!).
