Mr Trump spoke at a rally in Georgia’s Commerce on Saturday in support of several of Georgia’s Republican nominees. Former president’s spokeswoman Liz Harrington spoke with conservative commentator Eric Erickson, who described the turnout as “anemic.” “Trump’s visit to Georgia on Saturday was anemic. “This does not bode well for his list of candidates,” he wrote on Twitter. “Not all the people from Georgia were there or they could not even vote. Both Perdue and the other candidates had to pay the bill. Ugh. “ 25k-35k is “anemic”. Fake news! ” Mrs Harrington responded to Mr Erickson in a tweet. The former president later said in a statement issued by Ms. Harrington that the media “absolutely refuse” to show what he claimed were large crowds at his rally. “We had a huge crowd last night in Georgia, but as usual, Fake News Media definitely refuses to show it. People estimate between 25,000 and 35,000 people, but our record so far is Texas with 87,000 people with 50,000 disgusting. This is really fun! ” he said. Mr. Trump’s statement came after reports that the rally had failed to attract crowds, with images from the vacancies being widely shared on social media. Several commentators said the event may have witnessed the smallest crowd ever held at a Trump rally. Greg Bluestin, a political reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, tweeted: “I have covered more than a dozen Trump rallies across the nation. “This is the smallest crowd I have seen at a rally in Georgia since winning the 2016 election – significantly smaller than the crowd in Perry in September.” Steven Fowler, a reporter for Georgia Public Broadcasting, said: “It’s almost time for Trump to speak here in Georgia and there are probably no more than 5,000 people here, the smallest Trump gathering I have ever covered here. “Much less than the Perry rally in 2021 (close to 10 thousand) and nowhere near 20-30 millimeters in 2020.” Mr Fowler also said that crowds continued to gather outside during the rally. “People continue to leave during Trump’s speech. It is cold and windy and there is not much excitement “, he wrote on Twitter, sharing photos from empty stands. At the rally, Trump reiterated his claim that he had won the 2020 election and hinted that he might run again. “The truth is that I ran twice, I won twice and I did much better the second time. “And now, we may have to do it again,” he said.
