Kyle Eglington, 32, left the van in Poole on Saturday after allegedly assaulting a security guard. The National Aviation Police helicopter and the British Transport Police took part in the search for him and on Sunday police said he may have shaved his head and beard to change his appearance. Armed officers arrested him Monday night. A Dorset police spokesman said: “Officers looking for a man who allegedly escaped from lawful custody can confirm that he has been located. Dorset Police received a report at 11:13 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, that 32-year-old Kyle Darren Eglington had left a vehicle carrying detainees to the Hardy Road courthouse in Poole after allegedly assaulting one of the security officers. . “After extensive investigations, Kyle Eglington was located by officers of the Dorset Police Regiment on Monday afternoon, March 28, 2022, and was arrested on suspicion of assault and escape from lawful detention. We would like to thank all those who shared our calls. “ Eglington was remanded in custody after being charged with robbery in connection with an incident in Bournemouth on Thursday and appeared in Poole’s court the next day. Calling for help in locating him, Dorset Police Supt Heather Dixey said: “I would like to reassure the public that we have a number of police officers conducting other investigations in an effort to locate Kyle Eglington as soon as possible to return him to legal custody. “I will urge anyone who has seen a man in the area only in his underwear and socks or that matches the description given [white, 5ft 11 in tall and of medium build, with dark brown hair and a beard] and seems to avoid locating, to tell us. “There is nothing to suggest that this is a danger to the general public. However, we urge people not to approach him and call 999 immediately. “There will be an extensive police presence in the area as we conduct these investigations and members of the community can reach out to officers for any concerns.”
