The smoke seemed to be coming from The Penguin Lounge, at Ashford Crescent, as two crews arrived at the spot. A witness shared photos and videos of the dramatic fire that started around 5am.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Greenbank were present at the time and that the call was for a “deck fire”. The Penguin Lounge is a bar and restaurant in a residential area of central Plymouth. It is popular for its side garden with trap.
