Many passers-by have described the traffic lights as “turning off” something that has led to confusion in the streets. One man said: “Yes, the Limehouse and the Wapping affected entire out-of-town apartment buildings and the traffic lights did not work. The Rotherhithe tunnel was closed.” The DLR has also been suspended due to “defective communications equipment”. TfL has not confirmed whether this is related to a power outage in the area. He said: “Docklands Light Railway: No service while repairing defective communication equipment. London Underground, Southeastern and C2C accept tickets via any reasonable route.” East Londoners share their frustration with the blackout, as many can no longer work from home or connect to the internet via their WiFi.
