Elizabeth May tested positive for COVID-19. The Greenwich Islands-Green Party MP said on Twitter that she has been in isolation in Ottawa since Thursday and is “very ill”. “The rates here are insanely high; the disease is not funny,” said May, the Green Party’s parliamentary leader. “I do not think I will be hospitalized, but very sick.” May added that she was “angry; too many people were exposed”. May said she returned to Ottawa on March 20 and began isolating herself when she was not feeling well. She learned of her positive result on Thursday. Ontario began experiencing a sixth wave of COVID-19 last week as another variant, BA.2, began infecting growing numbers of people.
I tested positive for 4 #COVID yesterday, I’m been in Ottawa since March 20th. The rates here are insanely high. I was isolated when I started to feel unwell. This disease is not funny. I do not think I will be hospitalized, but very sick. And angry. Too many people uncovered. #staysafe #GPC #cdnpoli https://t.co/vGYY2vwCOK – Elizabeth May (@ElizabethMay) 1 April 2022
