Emeli Sandé has announced that she is in a same-sex relationship after falling in love with a female pianist after her divorce, and insists that her new partner is “the one for life”.
The Scottish singer met her girlfriend, a classical pianist, whose name has not been revealed, while studying classical music.
She told Metro: “We met through music. And I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great. ”
Sandé has confirmed her divorce from marine biologist Adam Gouraguine, with whom she dated for more than a decade before exchanging vows, in 2014 after just two years of marriage.

Regarding her new relationship, she added: “For me, true love and affection in your life make everything fit in its place.
“If you do not really have someone to share or someone to support you behind the scenes, it is very difficult. So now I feel very satisfied.
“I will always love music and I like my career, but now I feel that, despite what is happening, I can just enjoy life and be really happy.”
The revelation of the singer comes after the revelation of the video for the new song There Isn’t Much on the YouTube streaming platform.

The promo includes a troupe of female dancers from the gay community, but Sandé admits she is unsure when it comes to labeling her sexuality.
“I’m not sure what I identify with, but I guess so,” she said when asked if she considered herself gay. “I just feel like I have to fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”
The singer had previously claimed that she was about to “collapse” after the separation from her childhood lover Adam Gouraguine – with whom she was dating for 10 years – and admitted that she was still coming to terms with the loss of her “best friend”.

Sante – who married Adam in his native Montenegro in September 2012 – told the Times in 2014: “Everyone thought I was crazy. “What do you mean divorce? We were all at your wedding a few months ago!”
“But there was something inside me that said, ‘This is not life. “You’m pretending to be someone else.”
He added: “I do not want to call it a collapse, but I felt it.”

The singer is believed to have taken the Adam surname to make her own biceps, although she remained as Emeli Sandé for her pop career.
Speaking about her husband who was born in Montenegro in 2013, she said: “I would also like to have a Montenegrin passport. I want to be part of his tradition. I grew up in a family with two different cultural backgrounds, so I hugged them both.
“One day when we have children, I would like to be part of these two different cultures.”
