A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody. Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Waterside Drive in Blurton shortly before 6pm on Friday. The girl was found to have a heart attack and was later pronounced dead. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 5.52 p.m. Friday (April 1) at Waterside Drive, Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, following reports of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian. “Police were present and a five-year-old girl was found to have a heart attack after colliding with a gray Volkswagen Touran. “Unfortunately, a little later, her death was confirmed by the paramedics. “Her closest relatives have been informed and supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.”
