A team in Florida calls an Orlando amusement park to take down the ride where a 14-year-old fell and died on March 24.
Tire Sampson, 14, died after falling from the Orlando FreeFall at ICON Park on March 24. The route is 430 feet, according to the attraction.
The Florida Coalition of the Juneteenth Project has created a report to local and state officials calling for the Orlando FreeFall to be “dismantled immediately” and has received more than 1,100 signatures.
Tina Wilson, co-founder of the Juneteenth Project Coalition, told Fox News Digital that the team is calling on ICON Park to demolish the Orlando FreeFall and replace it with a memorial to Tire. He also said that “someone is negligent” about his death.

“We really feel as an organization and as an Orange County community that someone is negligent about the death of Tyre Samson,” Wilson said. “Please lower your structure, replace it with something more child-friendly, something that reminds you of it in a brighter light. Because right now, this monster, as it is known now, is not just a wound in the eye, it is a wound in the heart. “
Wilson has many questions about the incident, but asks why Sampson was initially allowed on the Orlando FreeFall.
“Several employees told him that in two walks before that, that he was very heavy. So why was he allowed in that walk? And what is so upsetting is that while he was in the air on this walk, he felt insecure and left a lot “messages or a message, probably about his impending death and ‘tell my mom and dad I love them,’ and things like that,” Wilson said.
Sampson’s cousin Shay Johnson told Spectrum News 13 by candlelight on Monday that he had not been barred from entering the teen by two more walks in Luna Park due to its weight.
The boy’s father told FOX 35 Orlando that Tire felt uncomfortable when the ride started.

Wilson said she wanted to see legislation aimed at protecting people who decide to go on these amusement park rides, and said more security measures should be taken.

Operation manual for Orlando FreeFall reports that the maximum passenger weight is just over 286 pounds. The Sampson was 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighed 330 pounds, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
“There were no observers on the ground. There was nothing to alert staff that this rider was in trouble,” Wilson said. “He had no choice but to fear falling,” Wilson said.
The Juneteenth Project Coalition will host a protest on Friday at ICON Park, calling on them to cancel the walk and conduct an impartial inquiry.
