NAVARRE BEACH, Florida – The family of the missing woman from Florida, Cassie Carli, said they did not yet know where the young mother’s cell phone was, as interested loved ones said there were “red flags” for her daughter’s father. Raeann Carli, 32, said she did not believe her older sister had sent the latest text messages over the phone. Asked on Friday if police had located Carli’s cell phone, Raeann said no. “He wanted to remind us,”[If] “something happened to me, that’s it.” – Cassie Carli’s sister, Raeann Carli “We are still trying to locate Cassie’s cell phone. Her bag was found inside the vehicle, but we still cannot locate the cell phone,” he said. “The most important thing we are looking for is her phone. We know she was not there.” THE LOST MOTHER CASSIE CARLI FEELS “EXCEPTIONALLY” SAFE AROUND THE CHILD’S FATHER BEFORE DISAPPEARANCE: SISTER Carli, 37, was last seen on Sunday night as she met her daughter’s father in the parking lot of a seaside restaurant, Juana’s Pagoda, not far from her home in Navarre. Investigators later located her vehicle, with her bag inside, and confirmed that the couple’s 4-year-old daughter was safe. But Carly remains missing and loved ones, community members and police are still desperately searching. Younger Carli – who had previously told Fox News Digital that Cassie felt “extremely” insecure about her daughter’s father, Marcus Spanevelo – further explained on Friday that her sister had previously warned them about the man. “In general, in her relationship with him, she was always like that, she was afraid of him. She was always in control and tried to be manipulative, and she was afraid of him in the past. And what he can do, or plan maliciously towards her.” He added: “We always had a red flag on it. Always. And she, too. She wanted to remind us,”[If] “something happened to me, that’s it.” THE SEARCH FOR THE FALLING MOTHER CASSIE CARLI IS BEING OUTSIDE THE STATE AS THE LAST WHO SEE HER WAS FOUND IN ALABAMA Raeann said Cassie had always had close contact with her father, with whom she lived, and the rest of the family, and that “she was never one of those who just disappeared.” But on Sunday night, she told her dad she was running to pick up her four-year-old daughter, Sailor, from the child’s father and never returned, Carly said in a telephone interview with Fox News Digital on Thursday. Raeann had previously said that Cassie usually tried to meet Spanevelo in public places – usually a Walmart car park – but that he had recently changed places. Before leaving for Juana on Sunday, she put her head in her father’s bedroom at the house they share. “When it came time to get Sailor, my dad was in his room to rest and she popped in, ‘Hi, Dad, I’ll be right back.’ “I’m just running to grab Sailor.” said Raeann. “He came out the door as if he were coming back immediately.” Cassie’s father went to bed, but woke up hours later and discovered that his daughter had not yet returned. “Cassie, I’m trying to call you. What’s up?” wrote, in a series of text messages given to Fox News Digital. His first message was sent at 21:40 on Sunday. He then sent a second message saying, “I’m scared to call you as soon as you receive this message.” Immediately afterwards came an answer and said: “Sorry, the car was playing and I broke my phone. Marcus is working on it. I will stay at his house tonight. He pays me some money to do some things around his house.” Cassie Carli is shown in this photo without a date provided by the family (Photos courtesy of the Carli family) A subsequent message from Cassie’s phone said: “Let me see if she can fix it and I will call you.” FLORIDA, MOM CASSIE CARLI HAS BEEN IGNORANT SINCE SUNDAY. THE SEARCH INCREASES AS A 4-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER FOUND SAFE Cassie’s father went to bed at night. After hearing nothing from his daughter the next morning, he contacted Spanevelos and then the sheriff’s office. The family now doubts that these messages even came from Cassie, with Raine explaining that the messages “are not the way Cassie would have spoken or would have spoken.” “We do not believe Cassie was responding to these messages,” Carly said. “She would never, ever accept such offers from him – to stay with him or help him or anything, first of all, without telling us or thinking about it with us. So, she is not like her at all.” Cassie Carli and her little daughter, Saylor, in this undated photo provided by the family (Photos courtesy of the Carli family) On Thursday, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said investigators located Spanevelo more than four hours and more than 260 miles away in Birmingham, Alabama, where they interrogated him and were able to check on the couple’s daughter. Johnson said the entire Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crime Unit, which has at least 10 detectives, is working on the case. He said investigators believe Spanevelo was “the last one we saw and we know”. “We plan to talk to him again,” Johnson said. He would not discuss the recollection of Spanevelos events. Spanevelo has not been charged with a crime, nor has he been named as a suspect or person of interest. He did not respond to a request for comment or information from Fox News Digital. Johnson did not disclose specific areas of investigation and said investigators are now in custody of Carly’s vehicle. “When we look at this, we think her disappearance is in danger. We do not know what happened to her; we just know that we are very concerned about the way she was lost,” Johnson said. “We do not have enough information to determine if she is alive or dead.” Sgt. Rich Aloy, a spokesman for the department, said the investigation was still “extremely active”. He did not answer questions Friday about Spanevelos, including how police located him in Birmingham and whether he was cooperative.
