Law enforcement officials in Florida’s Bay County said Sunday they would not tolerate bullying in the spring after a 21-year-old Alabama man was shot in the leg Sunday during a shooting in Panama City Beach. “Crowds gathered here this weekend, there are no words that can describe how they behaved, behaved and the number of laws they violated,” Panama City Beach Police Chief JR Talamantez said Sunday after shot. “We are doing our best to manage this situation.” Police were informed that the large crowd was out of control shortly before the shooting took place on Sunday afternoon. Six people were arrested and officials said they could be charged with attempted homicide-related shooting. Law enforcement officers seized 75 firearms, which were spread out on a table during a press conference Monday in Panama City Beach. Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford said 161 people were being held in the county jail during a “difficult, difficult and dangerous weekend.” He noted that 78 of those arrested were from Alabama. “Each of these 75 illegal firearms represents a violent armed confrontation with law enforcement,” Ford said. “This weekend could very well have resulted in the tragedy of a loss of life from law enforcement, the loss of a citizen and even a bad person. Some local nightclubs volunteered to close their doors on Sunday night, said Panama City Police Chief Mark Smith. Officials noted that most of those arrested were not typical “spring”. “These are chinnials who came to our city and brought weapons in order to commit some kind of act,” Smith said. In South Florida, noisy crowds, drinking and growing violence in the city’s world-famous South Beach neighborhood prompted officials to impose a curfew at midnight on the weekend. The action followed shootings that injured five people in South Beach last week. Ocean Drive’s 10-piece section, known for its hotels, restaurants and art deco bars, is located among areas that serve more affluent tourists as well as locals. Many residents for many years have learned to treat the spring break like a hurricane: Stay inside and get tired until it ‘s over. Asked about a possible curfew on Panama Beach, Talamadeth said “nothing is out of the question.” He said officials were assessing the situation. Officials plan to meet again on Friday to address the issue. “I know the people are disappointed. “Believe me, we are also disappointed,” said Talamadeth. “The harsh reality is that we can not control who comes to the city. But what we can control is what will happen to you if you commit a crime in this city. We will hold you accountable. “
