Hawkins, 50, died Friday in Bogota, Colombia, where the band was to play a major festival.
The Colombian Attorney’s Office issued a statement Saturday saying that preliminary results of toxicology tests on urine from Hawkins’s body identified 10 psychoactive substances and drugs, including marijuana, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants and benzodiazepines. No cause of death was reported and investigations are ongoing.
Hawkins joined the Foo Fighters in 1997, led by former Nirvana member Dave Grohl, and the band has become one of rock’s best-selling songs. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, with their latest release winning best rock albums at the most recent Grammys.
Grohl and band members Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel and Rami Jaffee were spotted returning to Los Angeles by private jet early Sunday.
