-ONE Larger font Increase the font size of the article A + A key figure in the “freedom escort” that blocked downtown Ottawa earlier this year to protest COVID-19 restrictions is still seeking lawyers to represent him at trial. Pat King, who has been in custody since his Feb. 18 arrest, told a virtual court hearing in Ontario today that he was currently “shopping for lawyers.”

Crown lawyer Moiz Karimjee says he is concerned about the time King is taking to secure lawyers. King has said in previous court appearances that it was difficult to contact a legal adviser while in custody. Trending Stories

He also says he has two new lawyers representing him on the bail review, although neither was on the show today.
