Schools across the island were closed on Friday due to travel conditions. The latest forecast from CBC PEI meteorologist Jay Scotland calls for temperatures to continue to rise overnight on Friday, with prolonged frostbite turning into rain before falling overnight. The temperature continues to rise this afternoon as the prolonged frost pockets change to rain before shrinking overnight. The stormy southeast wind becomes westerly & relaxes during the night before a fairly sunny / mild Saturday (possible rain late in the day).
