The warnings are valid until late Friday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, an early spring thunderstorm brought a messy mix of snow, ice cubes, icy rain, rain and thunderstorms to parts of Nova Scotia.
Schools in Cape Breton-Victoria and the Strait area remained closed on Friday due to weather conditions.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots will become icy, slippery and dangerous. Be especially careful when walking or driving in affected areas. There may be outages,” Environment Canada said in a statement.
Wind gusts could reach up to 140 km / h in Inverness-Mabou North province.
