Elizabeth Wiesenfeld, 67, was reported missing by Whitehall police in April 2019. The remains, later identified as her own, were found almost a year later in a garbage bag in a Plum Borough area known for illegally dumping and using vehicles outside street. Authorities said Wiesenfeld had told her family she was afraid of Berry, who was doing chores around the house and continued to show up even though she had stopped hiring him. Berry told the court he wanted everyone to know “how sorry I am for the mistakes I made,” the Tribune-Review reported. Douglas Berry “I learned to pray for forgiveness,” he said. “I apologize to the family for not doing more, and I apologize to Betsy. I can not move mountains.” Police say they linked Berry to the case through the stolen Wiesenfeld ATM card, CBS Pittsburgh reports. From her death, Wiesenfeld’s first granddaughter was born and her first granddaughter is coming soon. Her brother, Christopher Lagie, said in a statement of the victim’s impact that he “died on the verge of a great outburst of love”.
