Photo: . Sunny days are forecast for Vancouver this week. As the Lower Mainland heads into late August, summer weather takes hold. Monday morning will start cloudy, but will be the only gray part of the week, according to Environment Canada. The federal agency predicts a mostly cloudy start to the day, with skies clearing around noon. In the afternoon, a higher temperature of 24 degrees Celsius is expected, with the temperature inside reaching 27 degrees. Midweek is expected to be fairly similar: sunshine, highs around 25 or 26C (inland that will be closer to 30C) and overnight lows only dropping to around 16C. Heading into the weekend, some cloud cover may return. On Friday (August 26) a combination of sun and clouds is forecast, which will remain until Saturday. However, no rain is currently forecast and temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-20s. With some fires burning in interior BC and Washington state, the short term smoke forecast shows some fires in Vancouver today. But winds should clear skies overnight and with even clearer skies on Monday.
