House of the Dragon is already living up to its predecessor, Game of Thrones — Sunday’s series premiere brought down an app to watch the show.

HBO subscribers complained on Twitter that they were unable to watch the premiere of the highly anticipated fantasy drama due to technical issues possibly caused by a flood of viewers. According to DownDetector.com, the crash affected at least 3,000 spectators.

“House of the Dragon was successfully watched by millions of HBO Max subscribers this evening,” HBO said in a statement. “We are aware that a small portion of users are attempting to connect through Fire TV devices that are experiencing issues and are in the process of resolving these affected users.”

Similar HBO connection difficulties have occurred in the past during the premieres of recent seasons of Game of Thrones.

Hi Leah, We know some users may be experiencing issues at this time. Try closing the app and restarting it to see if that helps. Reach out immediately if you’re still having issues.
