The little girl, Lynsey Gitty, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but appears to be fine, Houston Police Chief Troy Finer said at a news conference. Her parents went to bed around 11pm on Saturday night. When they woke up around 5 a.m. Sunday, their apartment door was ajar and Guity was gone. Lincy Guity was abducted from her family’s apartment in Houston on Saturday. Houston Police Department Police immediately responded to the apartment complex and spoke with a resident who said he spotted the suspect with the missing child. An Amber Alert was issued for Guity and the suspect, 50-year-old Holman Hernandez, who was driving a Nissan Sentra. That car was spotted around 2pm at a hotel just a mile and a half away from the apartment complex. “Management advised officers that they rented a room at approximately 7:30 to the suspect,” Finer said Sunday. Police found Holman Hernandez at a hotel with Lincy less than two miles from her home. Houston Police Department Officers knocked on the door of the room where the suspect was staying and got no answer, so they forced their way in, where they found the suspect and the girl. “He put up a little resistance before he was taken into custody, but no one was hurt,” Finer said. Police do not believe there is a connection between the suspect and Guity, but are still investigating the abduction. Holman is currently in custody. It was not immediately clear what charges he would face.
