Emergency services ran on Highholm Street around 3.30pm. today following reports of fire. A video from the scene shows flames breaking out on the roof of the building as firefighters tried to put out the fire. The top of the building appears to have been completely destroyed by fire. Scotland’s fire and rescue service told the Record that they left the scene at 21.05, but did not confirm further details of the fire. A spokesman earlier said: “We can confirm that we are present on Highholm Street in Port Glasgow after receiving multiple calls about the fire. “We have six devices on the spot, which are supported by the command support unit.” There are currently no reports of injuries.
