UPDATE: 6:25 a.m. DriveBC advises that Highway 3 reopens at Kootenay Pass at 11:30 p.m. ORIGINAL: 6:10 p.m. Highway 3 is closed via the Kootenay Pass, while crews remove an avalanche. The motorway is closed between Salmo and Creston, with an alternative route available via Highway 3A and Kootenay Lake Ferry. The highway is expected to be cleared by 12:15 on Wednesday morning. Highway crews are also clearing an avalanche on the Trans Canada highway between Revelstoke and Golden.
