A 48-year-old man died after a shooting incident in Surrey on Friday afternoon.

Christopher Raymond Hartl, of Surrey, was shot while inside a 12600-block apartment on 97th Avenue. Hartl later died at the hospital. The RCMP said the shooting was isolated and not linked to the ongoing gang clash in Lower Mainland. On Saturday, 40-year-old Darren Ellis Scott was charged with second-degree murder. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has undertaken the investigation, together with the forensic team and the BC Competitors Service. “We want to thank all our police partners for their swift action,” Sgt said.
