“President Trump is a fighter, he’s always been a fighter,” Kushner told Fox News host Mark Levin on Saturday in his first public comments about the Aug. 8 search of Trump’s Florida home. “The way he drives his enemies so crazy, they always chase him and make mistakes trying to catch him. That’s basically what happened here.” Speculation is mounting about which member of Trump’s inner circle was helping the FBI after reports emerged that the raid was based on information from a confidential human source. After Trump’s lawyer met with the FBI at Mar-a-Lago in June to discuss the return of classified documents stored at the club, someone told authorities there could be other top-secret documents stored there, he said the Wall Street Journal. Others claimed that Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump were trying to “distance” themselves from the former president. “I think Jared Kushner is very paranoid for reasons related to his family’s past. He never wants to go to jail,” Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson told MSNBC. “I suspect the FBI and the people have a compelling argument that he should talk.” Kushner appeared to respond to the allegations during an interview with Life, Liberty & Levin on Saturday. “They’re leaking to the same sources that produce fantastical claims that are then debunked soon after,” Kushner said. After leaving his post as a senior White House adviser, Kushner founded a private investment firm that received $2 billion from Saudi Arabia’s Sovereign Wealth fund.
