Ali Ozdemir was removed from the plane traveling from Turkey to Birmingham after the crew spotted him lying in his seat. He was so drunk he could not get his passport out of his bag when asked, Birmingham Live reports.
The 49-year-old, who is the former manager of an Italian restaurant in Birmingham, has previously admitted to being drunk on an airplane. He was jailed for three months in Birmingham Crown Court.

Andrew Wallace, who is prosecuting, said police were called to Birmingham airport on October 19 last year after a drunk passenger was reported on a Jet2 plane from Turkey. He told the court: “The accused had vomited on himself and in the seats of the plane on the plane. He was removed from the plane. He was found to have fallen into his seat, smelled of vomit and drink and had red eyes.”
At the sentencing, Judge Simon Drew QC said: “On October 19 last year it is clear from the testimony of witnesses that you were very drunk, even when you got on the plane, but how drunk it is impossible for me to know.
“It was noticeable to the passengers of the plane and very quickly it was noticed to the flight attendants and the flight attendants who saw that you fell into your seat and that you had vomited not only yourself but also the adjacent seats.

“You were on a long flight from Turkey back to this country. When you were asked for your passport, you just could not get it out of your bag, which revealed the situation you are in.
“You did not offer any aggression to anyone on the plane, nor were you rude to them. The fact is that people who are drunk on an aircraft pose a serious risk to anyone on the aircraft.
“There is always the risk, because of your drunken condition, that your behavior will get out of control and endanger the lives of those on the plane because of what they can not escape.”
Defendant Syed Ahmed said Ozdemir’s behavior had not caused any concern, he was not aggressive and no one was forced to move positions. He said his head was leaning against the window and he had fallen asleep.
Mr Ahmed said the defendant had made regular trips to Turkey and had gone to an engagement party on that occasion. He said he believed some of what happened on the plane was due to stomach upsets and that he was also under stress due to the divorce.
Ozdemir, he said, had two glasses of wine at the airport. He added: “He was remorseful from the beginning and had no previous convictions. He is divorced and was a manager at the recently closed Cielo in Brindley Place.”
Mr Ahmed said Ozdemir, from Oakley Road, Stirchley, was currently unemployed but looking for work in the catering industry.
