Activists of the Just Stop Oil environmental campaign forced some facilities to close on Sunday. Protesters are demanding that the UK government suspend new oil and gas projects. More than 30 members of Just Stop Oil camped outside the Buncefield oil terminal in Hertfordshire overnight. Ronan, a protester who slept through the night, told Sky News: “This is an ongoing campaign, so there is no end date. “Our message is that immediate action and political disobedience will only increase until we see change in the right direction. “It’s incredibly sad that he is taking such action to force change, but as long as we do not see change, activists will stand up and force change.” Image: Protesters slept outside Bansfield Hertfordshire’s terminal overnight Asked if this was the right time for actions such as this disruption of fuel supply in the midst of a cost-of-life crisis, Ronan said he felt he could not wait any longer. This is the choice we have now. “Are we going through a mild disruption now, to move away quickly from fossil fuels – or are we plowing and ending up in a situation where we have huge floods, possibly mass starvation, as crops fail? Officers flew drones over the spot and an extended exclusion zone remains in place. The Buncefield terminal was one of seven sites targeted by Just Stop Oil in the past three days and more than 200 people have been arrested since Friday. The tunnels that cut off entrances to the Navigator and Grays terminals in Thurrock, Essex since Friday remain in place, with 35 more people arrested on Sunday.
